Enable and Disable Synchronization

Automatic synchronization is the heart of the Billbee and Shopify integrations. It ensures that new orders are regularly imported into AutoLetter. However, there are situations where you may want to temporarily or permanently disable automatic synchronization.

What Happens When Synchronization Is Disabled?

When you turn off automatic synchronization:

• No automatic updates: New orders from Billbee/Shopify are not automatically imported
• Existing data is preserved: Previously imported orders remain available
• Manual synchronization possible: You can trigger a manual synchronization at any time, even when auto-sync is disabled
• Campaigns continue running: Active campaigns are not affected -- they use the existing data

Typical Use Cases

Temporary Deactivation

• Maintenance work: You are making changes to your Shopify store or Billbee account and want to prevent incomplete data from being synchronized
• Seasonal break: Your store is closed seasonally and no new orders are coming in
• Data migration: You are migrating your data and want to avoid automatic syncs during the process

Permanent Deactivation

• Archived integration: You no longer actively use the data source but do not want to delete the integration
• Read-only mode: You want to keep the existing data but no longer import new data

Manual Synchronization as an Alternative

Even with automatic synchronization disabled, you can perform a manual synchronization at any time. This gives you full control over when data is imported.

Keep in mind:

• At least 5 minutes must pass between two syncs
• Manual synchronization works identically to automatic sync -- it imports all new orders since the last sync
