In the third step of the campaign wizard, you configure the print settings for your letters. These settings affect both the quality and the cost of your campaign.
You can choose whether your letters should be printed in color or black & white.
If your letter template contains a color logo or product images, choose color printing to achieve the desired effect. For pure text letters, black & white is perfectly sufficient and saves costs.
This setting determines whether your letter is printed on both sides or one side only.
For single-page letter templates, there's no difference between duplex and simplex since no back side is needed. The setting only becomes relevant when your template spans more than one page.
Optionally, you can add a cover letter to your mailings. This is inserted as an additional page before the main letter.
When is a cover letter useful?
Note: A cover letter increases the page count and can therefore affect the cost per letter.
Once you've configured your print settings, the campaign wizard shows you a price preview. It distinguishes between:
| Destination | Description |
|---|---|
| Germany (DE) | Standard postage for domestic shipping |
| EU | Higher postage for shipping to EU countries |
The price preview takes all selected options into account -- color/BW, duplex/simplex, and cover letter -- and shows you the price per letter. This helps you better estimate your campaign's total costs.
Your print settings directly affect costs and therefore the number of letters you can send with your budget:
| Setting | Cost Impact |
|---|---|
| Color instead of BW | More expensive |
| Duplex instead of simplex | Slightly more expensive (for multi-page letters) |
| With cover letter | More expensive (additional page) |
Changes to print settings after the campaign has launched are not possible. Choose your settings carefully before starting the campaign.
Use the price preview in the wizard to try different combinations and find the best balance between quality and cost for your campaign.
