When you have stored a payment method in AutoLetter, two separate services are automatically created for you: one for letter delivery within Germany and one for international delivery. In this article, you will learn what these services mean, which statuses they can have, and where to find the details.
AutoLetter distinguishes between two independent delivery services:
This service covers the delivery of all letters to recipients with a German address. Delivery is handled by DHL through the national postal network. Postage costs for domestic letters are lower than for international mailings.
This service is responsible for delivery to recipients outside of Germany -- within the EU and worldwide. Postage costs for international letters are higher since delivery runs through international postal networks.
Both services are billed separately and appear as separate line items on your invoice. You can use both services simultaneously or activate only one -- depending on where you send letters.
Each of the two services has its own status, which is displayed in the dashboard under "Payment". There are four possible statuses:
The service is active and functioning normally. Letters to recipients in the respective delivery region are printed and sent. Billing is running as planned.
The service has been cancelled and is no longer active. New letters to recipients in this delivery region will no longer be sent. Letters already submitted that are still in the queue may still be delivered.
A due payment could not be collected. Possible reasons:
With an "Overdue" status, letter delivery for this service may be restricted or stopped. Update your payment method as soon as possible to re-enable delivery.
The service has been temporarily deactivated. In this state, no new letters are sent, but the service can be reactivated at any time. A pause can be useful if, for example, you temporarily have no campaigns planned for a specific delivery region.
In the "Payment" section of your dashboard, you will find detailed subscription information for each service:
| Detail | Description |
|---|---|
| Subscription ID | Unique identifier of your service subscription at Stripe |
| Status | Current status (Active, Cancelled, Overdue, Paused) |
| Start date | Date when the service was activated |
| Next payment date | When the next billing for this service will occur |
Click on a service to view the associated line items. There you can see which letters were sent through this service in the current billing period and what costs were incurred.
Do I have to use both services? No. You can use exclusively the Germany service or the International service. Costs are only incurred for the service through which letters are actually sent.
Can I pause one service without affecting the other? Yes, the services are independent of each other. For example, you can pause international delivery and continue sending letters within Germany.
What happens to my campaigns if a service is "Overdue"? Campaigns that would send letters through the affected service are paused. Campaigns using the other service are not affected.
